Perfectly Imperfect Mark Making (Supplies)

Supply List

Limit your color palette

  • 1 yd. cotton canvas duck cloth natural or white
    • 7 oz.
    • If you are having trouble finding this, substitute with cotton or linen 
    • Search online for cotton canvas duck cloth
  • 1 yd. of black duck cloth—good to have around—optional
    • This is a versatile fabric to use.
    • The weight does not matter.
    • It’s OK if it has sizing in it.
    • Available at JoAnne’s 
  • Any other materials you like working with
  • Gallon bag of small scraps—one for you & one for the share pile
  • 1 yd. of linen/cotton type fabric/or any fabric you want to bring
    • For use as a base fabric
    • Neutral color
    • It should read as a solid
  • A variety of small amounts of sheer fabric—3 or 4 small pieces
  • Black sharpie
  • Glue stick
  • Painter’s tape
  • Hole puncher if you have one–optional
  • Scissors 
  • Small amounts of paper that can be stitched through without falling apart.
    • A page from a calendar
    • A National Geographic page—or equivalent 
    • Coffee hugger from the coffee shop
    • Art paper
      • Better to bring 2-3 smaller pieces
      • whole sheets are not necessary.
      • Amazon has these little packs of art paper—we will be working small 
  • Mark Making Supplies
    • Three 1 oz. bottles of paint—I recommend Golden Fluid Acrylics
    • 2—3 inexpensive chip brushes from the hardware store
    • Stamps/stencils—mark making tools
  • Sewing tools:
  • Small Amount of paint
    • 3 small bottles of paint  
      • Golden Fluid Acrylics
    • A few small cups
    • Clean up rag/paper towels
  • Small jar of acrylic gel medium
