Great Fun at 1st PDQ at AQT Challenge
November 14, 2010
Congratulations to Susan Shie’s PDQ Challenge Team, lead by Katie Fowler, for winning the first PDQ at AQT Challenge. It was great fun to watch 7 teams create a 12×12 block in one hour, using pre-selected fabrics, while others cheered from the sidelines…some because they weren’t the one under fire to complete the block, and others just to cheer on their teammate!

Thanks for posting this! Our team was called Lucky’s Ladies, and it was Katie Fowler who was our contestant, assisted by Erin Watson. They did a marvelous job of keeping focused, and Katie worked right up to the wire, even heatsetting her final efforts, so her block is now archival!
She shared the $250. prize with Erin, and she bought herself a bunch of the Copic Markers, that you can refill, right away at the Fabrics Unlimited vendor store on site. After all her carping about us making her be the contestant (thus the Under the Bus theme), Katie said it actually made her loosen up to the point that she got it finally – not judging your work. This is my big deal in class, and the time constraint on the PDQ Challenge made her break through to her Aha Moment! She’s also quite thrilled with her reward: the Copic Markers!
Thanks for the details Susan! I’m still organizing all the paperwork! We will have a video of the challenge online soon! How much fun will that be?
